Rockingham International on Saturday 2nd August

Is anyone on here doing Rockingham on the 2nd August? I've booked myself on without any of my mates as I'm going to see if I can work on my technique and confidence without the usual peer pressure and bravado ...delete and insert "he has no mates".

Tried to get Spudda involved but he has gracefully declined on no-crash-bobbins-grounds. Poor excuse! It's booked through No Limits and there are plenty of places still left.

I'll have my camera set up with the LANC remote all wired and working for the full day (5 x 20 minute sessions should fill a tape or two nicely). It's a good opportunity to get some footage of yourself if you stick in front of me for a few laps.

I would be tempted but I'm at the Test all day on friday. There's no way I'm going to be sober on Saturday. If I wake up in time I'll bimble down in the afternoon.

Definitely "bimble" down. I've not seen someone "bimble" before. Would be good to see a good "bimbler" to be honest with you ;)

The Test Match hey?! You'll definitely be hammered the way we're playing at the moment. I was at Lords for the first day but it's been all down hill from there. Looks like our middle order have had an attack of the "bimbles".

The cricket is going badly but the beer at Edgbaston is pretty good.

I've spent many a good evening drinking around and abouts Edgbaston and Smelly Folk. Is that sick little pub called The Trees still there on the main road out of town (A38 is must be). They used to advertise steak and chip with a pint for £2.99!

Re the Test - I was invited there next week by one of our Suppliers for some Corporate Hospitality - had to decline due to pressure of work :(

Re Track day on 2nd Aug - I'll be at Snetterton doing the next Junior Endurance Race.  Just heard Maria Costello will be in one of the teams racing us.  Nice lady and excellent rider.  Think I'll be gallant and let her win ;)

I'll be doing the track day at Snett on Friday 1st if anyone is about.

Get yourself along! The forecast is looking clear-ish. Potential for a light shower but nothing major.

Judging by the weather forecast, I think I'd rather do the same! Probably leaving the camera set up at home, going to have to concentrate on keeping it upright and do what I can with the suspension.

Re: Rockingham International on Saturday 2nd August

Completely pee'ed it down for the whole morning. Some people then went home at lunch assuming it would be a wash out - precisely when the sun came out and dried the track out for the final three sessions!

The Brembo was absolutely awesome! And Rockingfham is a surprisingly good circuit. Nice and technical in most part and could take a while to perfect.

Glad I stuck it out because I had the rare opportunity of riding in the pissing rain (at car park maneouvering speed), learning a track which felt like a bed of marbles and then got to nail it in the dry.

Felt sorry for the two top group riders who went off and destroyed their bikes on their first sighting lap in their first session. That's a sign of how slippery it was!!

Probably going to try to do Outlon Park on 9th September if anyone is interested.
