I didn't make it last year in the end due to the poor weather so I'm keen on going up there this year!

Only a couple of weeks to go for this now. I looking forward to it and hopefully there'll be some good weather.

Guy Martin isn't doing Cock O' the North this year; he's doing Goodwood instead.

I've never managed to get there, but it looks great. Might see if I can cash in a few Brownie Points and get a day release...

"The Cock O The North has a new date for 2008 moving later into July on the weekend of 12th and 13th. This promises to be a super meeting with Guy Martin and Ian Lougher heading the entry list."

D'oh! From Guys blog:

"I won’t be at the Cock o the North race meet, Scarborough, I’m booked to appear with the Honda Hydrex Bike Animal team at the Goodwood Festival of Speed instead. I’ll be at the Scarborough Gold Cup, though. Sorry if it messes up anyone’s plans. "

That's a shame. Ah well it'll still be an experience even if he isn't there.

Guy Martin is a top bloke....a bike racer from the real world. Repairs tractors in the week and goes lawnmower racing too!

I like his turn of phrase. He makes me chuckle.

He hasn't had much good luck recently though. He really looked on it at the TT but he just seemed to have gremlins in the bike.
