This is Karl Harris helmet that he wore when Tom Sykes Suzuki hit him in the head at Thruxton earlier in the year.

Its amazing how it withstood the force with relatively minimal damage!

What mm lense you using mate? That doesnt look like the stanard 18-55mm unless you have cropped imagines or were super close to track.

Its a 300mm Tamron Zoom....not the best quality lens you can buy but certainly top value for money!

I assume that's an X-Spirit? Not bad for a crash hat with 4 stars in the Sharp tests! I wonder how a 5 * AGV S-4 would have looked like after.

I was at Silverstone on the Sunday sat at the Abbey Hairpin opposite the large screen. I'm not that keen on Silverstone but thought as the title was likely to be sewn up I'd take a look.

Great to see GR win the title for Triumph too. Shame it looks like there might not be a team next season - another victim of the credit crunch!

I'm looking forward to seeing how Shakey fairs on the Sterilgarda Ducati in a few weeks time.

Yes it was an X Spirit. I've got an XR1000 and was asking the Shoei guy the difference between the two. There is more difference than is apparent to the naked eye!

I've got the XR1000 too. Did you ask the guy what he thought about the 3 Star rating it got?

    Re: Silverstone BSB Photos

The reason Arais and Shoeis don't get 5 star ratings is cos Sharp do an impact test on the side of the helmet. This impact point they choose is exactly the same measurement on every helmet tested....with an Arai and Shoei it coincides with the visor mechanism..so they don't score well. Now if you were to choose the visor mechanism point on all helmets rather than using a specific measuremnet they would all fair badly! ....in other words..you are not comparing like with like.

IMHO its just a way of Sharp getting publicity for their testing system....which is basically biased against Shoei and Arai, byssyaing the most expensive helmets are the worst. So in that case why do a majority of racers choose Sheoi and Arai?????
